December 25th, 2009

A waterproof watch is not all-powerful, if you do not maintain it well in your daily life, its “waterproof” function will be useless. So i list some places you should pay attention to during using a waterproof watch.

2, Damage of the watch glass can influence waterproof effect, if your watch glass is damaged, replace it in time.

3, Don’t turn the crown in the water or when your watch is very wet, otherwise water may permeate into the movement.

4, Make sure the crown to be locked after time adjustment.

5, Dry your watch with soft cloth as soon as possible when it gets water.

6, Keep your watch away from chemical materials, otherwise they will affect watch case and apron, thus reduce the waterproof performance.

7, Don’t place your watch in a high temperature(+60 ℃) or a low temperature(-10 ℃) environment.

How to Adjust Your Watch ’s Time, Date and Day

December 23rd, 2009

Adjust the time

If you want the time to be more accurate after it was adjusted, you can pull out the crown to the Position 3 when the seconds hand is at 12 position, then turn the crown clockwise or anti-clockwise to adjust hour and minute hand ’s position, when each pointer is identical with the standard time, push the crown back in its former position(Position 1).

Adjust the date

Pull out the crown to the Position 2, turn the crown anti-clockwise to adjust the date.

Watches with day and date complications

Pull out the crown to the Position 2, turn the crown anti-clockwise to adjust the day and clockwise to adjust the date.
Note:

1, Date, week and moon phase can not be adjusted between 21:00PM and 3:00AM. During this time, the date-change mechanism is operating and gearwheels’ matching degree is low, when adjusting, frequent action will damage the watch’ s internal parts.

2, In case of a watch whose crown has a waterproof screw down, first, you must turn the crown anti-clockwise to open it, after the time is adjusted, turn the crown clockwise and push it to be locked, avoid water permeating in.

3, If your watch needs date adjustment, please adjust the date to the day before the very date you want, then turn the hour hand to adjust date, your watch ’s date will change when the hour hand passes by midnight 12:00. To avoid confusion of day and night caused by adjusting the date directly, you ‘d better do so.

Position 1: In the Rolex Oyster Perpetual shown here, the crown is in the fully screwed down position. In this position, the crown has sealed the watch case against water and dust ingress, and the watch is worn with the crown in this position.

Position 2: By pulling out the crown a “click” will be felt and heard. In this position, the day/date can be altered. It is important to turn the crown slowly as the date will change rapidly. Turn the crown anticlockwise until the date shows one day less than what is required. In order to get the correct date, move the crown out to position 3 and turn the crown anticlockwise. This avoids the watch being 12 hours out. On watches with a day complication turn the crown anticlockwise to change the day and clockwise for the date.

Position 3: By pulling the crown out a further click will be heard and felt. In this position, the second hand will stop. Hands can now be set to the correct the time by turning the crown in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction.

Lange 1 became A.lange and Sohne ’s first watch after this brand recovered from a deep sleep fifteen years ago, once Lange 1 was introduced, it gained a huge success. The inspiration of Lange 1 ’s big date on the dial came from the Dresden Theater ’s clock, which was designed by A.lange and Sohne ’s ancestor.

At the end of 2009, A.lange and Sohne unveiled its first Lange 1 Daymatic Automatic watch, which is very similar to previous Lange 1 watches. But check carefully, you will find many differences: the Lange 1 Daymatic watch ’s main dial, which displays hours, was moved from the left to the right, its date is displayed on the upper left. The dial of the Lange 1 Daymatic watch is completed with a small seconds counter and a graceful retrograde scale, which serves to show days of the week instead of the customary power reserve indicator.
