How to Get Rid of Scratches on Watch Band ?

Here are some helpful tips to remove scratches from your watch.

1, Try some toothpaste and a cotton cloth to buff out the scratches (just like “How to Remove Slight Scratches on Watch Glass“).

2, Try a Cape Cod polishing cloth, it usually will get rid of minor scratches.

3, If your watch is polished stainless steel and the scratches are on the bracelet, you can use a product called “Flitz Metal Polish” to polish these scratches easily. You can find this product at most home improvement stores.

4, Rub in the Brasso with a clean cloth, but be conservative when buffing.

5, Take it to a fine Jeweler and have them polish the band. They can carefully remove the band from the watch, polish out the scratches and put it back on, so it looks brand new again.

Some People Do Not Suit Self Winding Watch

Because the self winding watch must be wound by swinging the arm constantly, if you are lack of physical activity, your watch will not be fully wound, this will result in your watch often stops working and even cause such a situation: it is working when wearing your watch, but when you take it off, it stops.

How to Maintain Gold-plated Watch ?

1, Avoid contact with chemicals and waste gas when wearing a golden watch, for example, gas, liquid gas, and sulphur soap, etc.

2, Always keep your golden watch dry and clean.

3, If the gold-plated watch is stained with sweat, you must dry it immidiately with soft cloth, because the Chloride in the sweat is corrosive and it can erode the golden surface of your watch.

Take Good Care of Your Leather Strap

Waterproof Performance Introduction

Waterproof performance depends on crystal glass, caseback and crown’s waterproof aprons, most watches feature screw down crowns and have a high waterproof performance.

Generally speaking, watch’s waterproof performance can be divided into four grades.

1, Not waterproof(no marks on caseback)
2, Sweat-resistant
3, General waterproof(water-resistant to 30m or 50m)
4, Diving watches(water-resistant to 100m, 200m or 300m)

Any watch that is marked waterproof must withstand 2 atm, which is water-resistant to 20m. So, 30 meters waterproof indicate that this watch can withstand 3 atm. This standard is based on laboratory conditions: temperature is between 20℃-25℃ , watch and water are static.

Notes:

1, 30 meters waterproof watch is not suitable to swim, this watch is mainly designed to avoid the movement being damaged by dust and moisture.

2, Diving watches(water-resistant to 100m, 200m or 300m) are for swimming or diving and other water sports.

3, All waterproof watches can not be worn in hot bath, sauna and other environments that have a rapid change in temperature. Because the waterproof aprons will be affected by temperature and appear gaps.

4, Do not adjust crown in the water.

5, To keep a good waterproof performance, you’d better replace waterproof aprons and crown at regular.
